What a fantastic site! I am related to the Kitchen and Ward families that are in the census returns for Tilton/Halstead. Thanks to the site I now have a few images of gravestones and have found that Walter Kitchen died in the 1st World War.

A genealogist from Quorn directed me to your excellent site. I'm in Milwaukee, WI (USA)tracing some of the Stubbs family from Halstead.

My project of photographing pre 1900 headstones throughout the county can skip Tilton. This site has done an excellent job in preserving part of
the county history. Well done.

I came upon this site by accident - having been born in Marefield and attended school in Tilton, I was fascinated to read about my birthplace. What an excellent site, so well researched. Mr Soper, I seem to remember your wife taught me knitting at school.? [My mother actually - ed]

I have been searching for the name Swingler and wasn't having much luck until I came across your magic site and found heaps. Thank you for your great work. Mostly interested in Woodford, Northampton, however it seems Tilton, Leicester is not far away and I now have new leads to follow up.

Hello from the States! Fun to find Pickards still in Leicester. My first known grandparent was Alleyne Pyccard, abt. 1510, from Willoughby, Waterlys, or the vice versa?! I'll be back---
